The most common questions we are asked at Quicksilver are
how much does it cost & how long will it last ? Fireworks
can cost anything from a few pounds each up to complete displays
costing many thousands of pounds. We will try to guide you
to the best solution for your budget.
In terms of how long a display should last, this will be determined
by the nature of the event. On bonfire night, for example,
people go out specially to see a firework display and wrap
up well to keep themselves warm so displays will usually last
between 20 - 30 mins. Alternatively at New Year people usually
come out from a warm building and may only want to stay outside
for a few minutes. These two examples, for instance, may have
the same budget but will use different types of fireworks
to make them last for the right length of time.
When can I use fireworks ?
Many people think that you can only buy and use fireworks
for a few weeks around November 5th but this is not true.
Fireworks can be sold and used all year round and people are
celebrating many other events throughout the year. However,
to avoid complaints from the neighbours, avoid letting noisy
fireworks late at night. During the summer (if we have one
this year) it may not go dark until 10 o'clock.
These are some of the reasons why our customers have firework
and pyrotechnic displays.

Where can I use fireworks ?
The site must be large enough for the size of fireworks that
you would like to use. If Quicksilver are firing the show,
we will conduct a site survey and plan the display around
the site and any restrictions there are. If you are buying
DIY fireworks from us then our on-line shop has information
about the different categories of fireworks and their safety
distances.
If you intend to hold your display on Public Land (e.g. the
Local Park) then you will require permission from the Local
Authority, who will want to make sure that you are running a
safe display. If you are using the fireworks on your own private
land you will not have to obtain permission for the display.
If it is a large event then the Police and Fire Service should
be informed as they sometimes get calls from people who are
not aware of what is going on.
